On January 29th, Deaf and hard of hearing community members had a fantastic time at the Teaching Kitchen demonstration. The Teaching Kitchen offers free cooking classes at the Coleman Recreation Center in Nashville TN for anyone who is interested. It is sponsored by United Way, Bridges, Metro Parks, Castles, Monroe Carell, Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, and the South Nashville Family Resource Center. Bridges provides an ASL interpreter and CART services as requested, making the event more accessible to the Deaf and hard of hearing communities.
Free cookbooks are available to those who attend, all participants may taste the food that has been prepared, and twenty-five participants are selected to win a bag of groceries!
Interested in more demonstrations by the Teaching Kitchen? The next demontration will take place on March 19th at the Coleman Recreation Center, from 10 am - 11 am.
