Or maybe not!  But, this is my chance to fill you in on League happenings.

It’s the final countdown to our annual fundraiser, Disco Inferno!  Purchase your tickets on the website, and please join us for cocktails, eats, and a great time.  While I know the economy has all of us thinking seriously about where our money goes, it becomes an interesting dilemma for nonprofits.  In difficult times, agencies usually see an increase in the need for services.  We rely on donations to provide those services and operate our programs.  So, donations tend to be down while the needs increase.  Each year we try to provide a variety of events so folks have donation options. This year we hosted a spaghetti dinner, a 5K walk, and now the disco party – three great and varied options for fun and fundraising!  We’ll do the same next year so you can continue to support us any way you choose. And I hope you do!

Speaking of programs, I joined the campers last weekend at Camp Marymount!  The rain did not dampen even one camper’s spirits, and if you need proof of how important our programs are to the children we serve, spend a day at camp!  Fantastic fun to see our deaf and hard of hearing children and youth experience dodgeball and marshmallow roasts!
